Snelgrove Dies Away
This is sad news for Utahns. Snelgrove ice cream is going away. When I was a kid I always loved caramel cashew. My grandfather used to buy it on their trips to Salt Lake City and carry it home in an ice chest with dry ice in it. They have been around for 79 years, but were bought out in 1990 by Dreyers. The sales volume of Snelgroves compared to Dreyers is too low for them to justify continuing the brand. This is truly a sad day.
Justin Ball is a software consultant and entrepreneur with a passion for Ruby. He evolved from a C++ and .Net monkey into a python programmer and finally found Ruby. In the rare moments when he isn't writing code, talking about code or measuring his code productivity in profanity per hour, you can find him on his bike in the mountains or on the roads surrounding Cache Valley.

This truly is sad. Having grown up in Salt Lake Snelgroves was always a favorite place to go with family, and then when I got older, on dates. They had gigantic revolving ice cream cones at the store we drove past all the time. I think they even sent Ronald Reagan a bunch of jelly bean flavored ice cream at one point. Now I feel old.
