Wordpress Plugins

Here are some of the Wordpress Plugins I use or that we are using for Teachers Without Borders

Akismet

Spam protection. This is built in. Everyone should use it.

wp-dtree-30

Create a tree like navigation for all the pages on your Wordpress blog. This is helpful if you want to use your blog like a CMS.

Fold Page List

This plugin helps you create a hierarchal page navigation.

Page Links To

Add a page to your Wordpress blog but instead of adding a page it adds a link. This will let you link to a wiki or forums or to an external website. Helpful if you have existing software that you want to link to.

Page Mash

Use Page Mash to manage your page hierarchy. Again this is great if you need to manage your blog like a CMS.

WPhone

Use WPhone to administer your Wordpress blog from your phone.

Global Translator Plugin

Make life a little bit easier for visitors from other countries with the Global Translator Plugin. This plugin works with the Google Translation Engine, Babel Fish, Promt, and FreeTranslations.com to try a machine translation of your content. Works pretty well.

WP-Yadis

OpenID is gaining some ground and several services now let you login with this new system. I can never remember my OpenID. Install this plugin and and you can use your blog's url as your OpenID.
