Bored at Church

July 23rd, 2007 by Justin Ball

Yesterday, my daughter, out of the blue, told her sunday school teacher, "I'm so bored I could fall asleep." We told her that she shouldn't say things like that to her teachers - she is going to kindergarten in the fall so we need to teach her stuff like that.

The irony is she didn't fall asleep. Instead of saying it, I just fall asleep. I don't remember the last time I made it through sunday school.

You have to love the hypocrisy of parenthood.

I fell asleep in Sunday School one time. Later in the lesson a guy in my quorum leaned over to me and told me to check my e-mail. I whipped out my treo, checked my e-mail, and sure enough, I had a message from the guy who had just talked to me. I opened up the e-mail and saw there was a picture attached. I opened up the pictures and lo and behold, there I was, asleep in Sunday School. He’d taken a picture of me with HIS treo, and sent me the photo.

As long as he doesn’t forward it to the bishop, I’m fine with it.
